Dear Family Promise supporters,

We hope each and every one of you are in good health and safe. 

We regret to inform you all that this year's Gala has been officially canceled. With the current "Safer at Home" order in affect along with so many unknowns facing our globe the Gala Committee has decided it is in the best interest for all to the cancel the event. 

Family Promise of the Verdugos relies heavily on this annual Gala to provide essential services to families experiencing homelessness. In the last few weeks we have continued operating with the families in our shelter now being placed in local motels. In addition, we are working closely with the families in our rapid rehousing and transitional housing programs to help them maintain their housing while being resourceful with their current means and leveraging resources in our communities. Staff are working remotely while providing intensive case management via video conferencing, phone calls, and emails. In April 2020 alone, Family Promise successfully helped move 8 homeless families back into housing and will continue providing case management during these uncertain times.  

We would hope you all would consider making a monetary donation to Family Promise. All funds raised will aid our organization as we embark on new methods in providing our services to effectively assist our community in coping with the pandemic.

Congratulations to our 2020 Honorees!

2020 IMPACT Honoree

This year, we are proud to present the IMPACT Award to Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center. Since 2015, GMHHC has been a consistent and strong supporter of our mission to secure a better future for the communities that we serve. The foundation has been instrumental in ensuring that Family Promise has the funding needed to provide its unique services to the poor and vulnerable members of our community. In addition, outside of monetary support, we have been fortunate to receive crucial in-kind donations such as car seats, bedding and more. For the past five years, this partnership has blossomed thanks to the many compassionate employees on the GMHHC team.

2020 Hands On, Hearts In Honoree

Marsha Ramos

The Hands On, Hearts In Award is presented to recognize a community partner who has been instrumental in the development of Family Promise and continues to serve through their volunteer efforts. We are pleased to announce that this year's honoree is  Marsha Ramos.

Marsha has a passion for seeking the common good through service to community that can be traced back to her childhood days in Burbank. She was instilled with the value of serving others through her parents and because of the opportunities presented to her in sports, scouting and school. Over the years, she has served the community in leadership capacities such as a coach, commissioner, director, chairwoman, board member, mentor, founder and mayor. 

Marsha is also a small business owner of a local consulting firm in Glendale called Geosystems, Inc. She has been blessed with the opportunity to expand her experiences and knowledge by working with many inspiring civic and community leaders and organizations. 

Marsha was enthusiastically engaged with the building efforts of Family Promise of the Verdugo's between 2009 and 2012. She continues to volunteer for Family Promise when the families are hosted at St. Finbar Church by serving generously as an overnight volunteer.
